12/15/08 Update

We have our next P. West Booster Club meeting scheduled for

Wednesday, 1/14/09 at 6pm in the School Library.

Mark your calendars.

Our December 9 meeting was attended by:
Stu Haw
Dee Franta
Theresa Vaccaro
Lisa Laudel
Annie Wayland
Judy Schneider

We worked through the Casino Night and the Booster Club Checking Account
Balance and want to finalize the Capital Expenses/Budget List in order
to have a set goals to shoot for and to assure that we are capable of
meeting the program needs.  Annie is going to try to provide some
specific numbers regarding yearly purchases such as uniform pieces.  We
also want to discuss up-coming fund raising ideas and events.
If you have specific questions regarding our discussions please call and
I can go through the accounting and the Casino Night earnings.- Stu Haw

From Lynn Gunter:

We have a first ever, wonderful opportunity this year to support our West High Soccer program...

We will auction two banners that will be displayed on the fence at the upper soccer field. These banners will be like the ones hanging on the fence facing the stands at the football field.

You may elect to personalize an advertise for your company, organization, etc.....

These banners will be displayed for the spring and fall '09 seasons.

Bidding will start at $500 and the revenue goes to the West Soccer program.....

Just a quick re-cap of our planning meeting of 10/29 for Casino Night.

1. Soccer Districts: As a side note, and part of our fund raising

efforts, we are going to be working the concession stand for 2 games on

Saturday & Tuesday evenings and the final game on Thursday evening. We

will be grilling burgers (at least on Saturday) and dogs and will have

all of the rest of the standard concession items. We will not deviate

from what the concession folks expect or allow. We are looking for

volunteers to assist on all three nights. Teresa Vaccaro has been

organizing this for the past few years and has done an outstanding job

and we want to support her efforts by getting parents to help work. If

you can work one of the games on any of the evenings mentioned, please

let Teresa know.

2. As of right now, we have approximately 110 people that have

indicated they will attend Casino Night. Many people have volunteered

to help work and I will get a list out of volunteers early next week.

We may ask the volunteers to show up a little early on Friday to go

through a quick training on the dealing process. Please continue to

tell everyone about the event - the more the merrier.

3. Jeanine Smith has been spearheading the effort to obtain gift cards

and other items for 50/50's and door prizes. We are still looking for

additional items and if everyone can participate in this effort it will

surely help. The Wright's are donating a ton of beverage items for this

cause.

4. Lynn Gunter is proceeding with the auctioning off of Company Banners

space along the soccer field fence as advertising for a year. We

encourage any and all businesses that might be interested to consider

this as a great, inexpensive way to advertise. We will have limited

spaces available. A notification will be sent out to explain the

program.

5. A final meeting of the group - to go over everything one last time,

is scheduled for Wednesday, 11/5 at 6pm at Mike Duffy's unless otherwise

notified. Gina Bailey is checking on availability.

If anyone has any questions, or if I misconstrued something please call

me.
